Dr. James Whitfield, MD

Dr. James Whitfield brings a rare combination of surgical precision and broad clinical depth to Visara's team. With over 3,500 cataract procedures performed, he has developed particular expertise in complex cases — including those with prior refractive surgery, post-traumatic cataracts, and high-astigmatic patients requiring toric IOL implantation. Beyond surgery, Dr. Whitfield manages a comprehensive ophthalmology caseload, serving patients who require a single trusted physician across multiple areas of eye health. He trained at the University of Edinburgh Medical School and completed his residency at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London before relocating to the United States.
