Built Out of Frustration
Visara was born from a gap Dr. Marcus Chen witnessed firsthand during his residency — patients leaving consultations more confused than when they arrived. Diagnoses were delivered without context. Treatment plans were handed over without discussion. Eye care felt like a transaction.
In 2011, Dr. Chen opened Visara with one room, two staff members, and a clear mandate — to build an ophthalmology practice where patients left every appointment informed, confident, and genuinely cared for.
That mandate has never changed. Everything else has grown around it.

Still the Same Commitment
Today, Visara operates with five board-certified subspecialists, a full diagnostic suite, and over 2,400 patients treated each year.
We've grown — but we've deliberately stayed small enough to maintain the quality of care that made us. Every physician we've hired has been chosen not only for their clinical credentials but for their ability to communicate — to sit with a patient who is scared about their vision, and make them feel understood before they feel treated. That's what Visara is. That's what it will remain.
